How do cleaning, ventilation, carbon filtration, negative ions and ozone differ?

X09 includes five ozone modes and a separate negative-ion function. It does not contain a HEPA filter or an activated-carbon filter.

Source cleaning removes odor material from litter, urine, fabrics and surfaces. Fresh-air ventilation dilutes remaining airborne odor. Activated carbon adsorbs selected odor compounds only in products that contain carbon media, while HEPA is a particle filter used only in products that include verified HEPA media. Negative ions and ozone are electronic air-treatment functions and do not replace source cleaning or ventilation.
